“The Ballad of Kitty and Millie”

Stories will tell of a future someday
That a sword is shaped into a plow.
And last but not least a lion and lamb as friends will lie down,
But sad to say that day is not now.

Even so as a coming event that day is constrained.
It’s just not right no not yet.
For my cat Kitty and her nemesis
Millie struggle and hiss and threat.

Above all I’m not saying who’s right and who’s wrong.
For how it all started, I am not privy.
But both agree that one is at fault.
Each happy to paw-point at the other kitty.

The day of revenge has finally arrived.
So, to Millie’s yard Kitty went
Digging a hole, a gopher would envy,
Depositing her essence and scent.

Kitty is tidy and covers the deed.
It’s the way of a cat she’s assured.
Singing a ditty how Millie is sh**ty
And how she owes her a turd,

Inside the house Kitty rests on her perch.
then startled she stands to brace.
For there on the screen screams Millie’s
obscene, unholy meows in her face.

Lion and lamb now friends.

It’s true, yes, it’s true.
There is a day past our flaws.
The lion and lamb will lie down.

Story of lion and lamb together

Hence a day of all peace…

after two kitties stop

sharpening their claws.
